iKON With 7 Members But Not The Indonesian Girl Group

I said in the last post about K-Pop that I won't go into details about this group. But I run out of ideas so, here we go.

[WARNING: THIS POST GOING TO CONTAIN A LOT OF SPOILER ABOUT SOME REALLY OLD SURVIVAL PROGRAMS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE KNOWN THE RESULT EVEN BEFORE WATCHING THEM. Viewers discretion advised.]

I don't really want to explain again how I fell in love with this group. Please just refer to this post for that not really important information.

So, where do I start?

Around August 2013, YG Entertaiment, one of the BIG 3 entertainment agency in South Korea, announced about their new survival program called "WIN: Who Is Next?". This program was launched to choose a group of male YG trainees that's going to debut as a boy band. This group will be YG's first boy band to debut after Big Bang seven years prior. In this survival program, they introduced two groups called Team A and Team B that are going to compete to debut as "Winner". They compete in a bunch of missions, including composing their own songs for the last mission. Team A gave a performance of their version of "Just Another Boy" and "Go Up" while Team B also gave a performance of their version of "Just Another Boy" and their own song called "Climax".

And of course, Team A won and became WINNER and debuted with the song called "Empty" at 2014. They really good by the way. You should listen to their song like Really Really, Love Me Love Me, and Island.

But moving on, after they failed to debut on the first survival show, Team B's journey doesn't stop there. Because they have a very talented song-writer as their leader, they released a song called "Wait For Me" for their fans who are still supporting them even though they haven't even debuted yet.

because you have to understand the lyrics to really feel this song

Anyway, after a long wait and because a lot of fans are whining to see this team, YG Entertainment released another survival show a year after "WIN: Who Is Next?" called "Mix & Match". On this show, Team B was given another chance to debut. This time their name is "iKON". It meant as a wish for them to be the icon of music and because they are from Korea, the 'c' in icon is switched with 'k'.

There are three members who definitely going to debut. They are B.I or Kim Hanbin, Bobby or Kim Jiwon, and Kim Jinhwan. The three of them were the members who have trained the longest in YG Entertainment and thought that are ready for debut. There are also three new additional members who could be a part of iKON. So there are nine contestants now. Six are the original Team B members and three additional members. Other than the three who have been fixed, the other six has to compete for the four remaining spots in the seven membered group.

After many performances and missions, the show finally completed and the votes are in.

And yes, all the six members of the original Team B got in with one additional member.

This post is already longer than how I thought it would be. So the members' profiles will be in the next post.

Bye <3

The CLBK Philosophy

WARNING: There will be some Indonesian phrases in this blog content, you have been warned. So, here's the thing, I have a friend who recently got closer with their (I'm not gonna mention a specific gender in order to protect their identity) ex. They chatted through an application called LINE almost every day. They said it was just like how they used to. We, of course, including me, teases that friend of mine endlessly, saying, "Cieeee, CLBK nih CLBK nih." For your information, CLBK is an Indonesian phrase which actually is an acronym for 'Cinta Lama Bersemi Kembali'. It basically meant getting back with an ex. But that's not all, this CLBK phrase has another meaning which is a joke. 'Cebok Lama Bersih Kaga'. It basically saying that when you wash after you peed or pooed, you take a long time doing it, but it's not clean. Yes, very dirty and unhygienic. Also very very very (yes, I just put in a reference to Ideal of Idol's song...

Divina Commedia

Divina commedia is Latin words for divine comedy. This phrase became famous for the tittle of a long narrative, almost like a poem, by an Italian poet, Dante Alighieri. In his masterpiece, "Divina Commedia" talks about a journey in the afterlife. It was divided into Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso, a representative of Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. This work showed how the medieval era's view of the after-life, created by the Western Church. In a deeper mean, "Divina Commedia" talks about a journey of a man to God, according to the Christian view. It was based mostly on Thomistic Philosophy and the Summa Theologica by Thomas Aquinas. In my personal view, the phrase itself showed how life actually is. Life is the divines' comedy. Life is like a long and very complicated soap opera. Someone's got to be out there, laughing at how people fool theselves, strive hard to achieve success eventhough it was simply impossible to achieve. How human wants to be ...
